Join Us for an Insightful Evening on Apprenticeships, The Workforce, and the Education Ecosystem
Join the ASU Learning Transformation Studios on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the ASU California Center Grand for an insightful conversation on "Apprenticeships, The Workforce, and the Education Ecosystem."
The discussion will focus on the insights and key takeaways from the new book, "Apprentice Nation: How the 'Earn and Learn' Alternative to Higher Education Will Create a Stronger and Fairer America," written by Ryan Craig.
This engaging evening, sponsored by The Smidt Foundation and the Los Angeles Business Council, will feature a reception with food, drinks and networking opportunities from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., followed by a panel discussion from 5:45 p.m. to 7 p.m. that will include:
- Ryan Craig, author of "Apprentice Nation: How the 'Earn and Learn' Alternative to Higher Education Will Create a Stronger and Fairer America" and Managing Director at Achieve Partners.
- Stephen Cheung, President and CEO of the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation.
- Francisco Rodriguez, Ph.D, Chancellor of the Los Angeles Community College District.
- Lindsey Kozberg, Senior Director at The Smidt Foundation.
- Kimberly Merritt, Vice President of Arizona State University Learning Enterprise.
This event is not one to miss. You'll hear directly from Ryan, whose work is reshaping our perceptions of higher education and post-high school paths, as well as other academic and industry leaders.
Ryan will also be giving away signed copies of his book at the event.
Ryan's compelling book explores the crucial role of apprenticeships in the workforce and challenges the prevailing notion that higher education is the only viable path for many high school graduates. It has been called "required reading for policymakers on both sides of the aisle."
Please join us on November 28 at the ASU California Center Grand at 919 South Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90015. Let's shape the future of apprenticeships, job training, and higher education together.
